kai pang, organizer
Kai is a second-generation Chinese American born in Seattle, WA.
After many moves, he ended up at the University of Pittsburgh, where he studied Economics and Philosophy. As a student, Kai got heavily involved in organizing around labor and environmental issues on campus, helping to launch campaigns to raise the campus minimum wage to $15 and to divest the university from the fossil fuel industry.
Upon graduating in May 2016, Kai began working at Pittsburgh United, where he convenes a monthly Worker Organizing Table of local labor unions and community organizations. He is a part of ongoing campaigns to further the fight for economic and racial justice.
Outside of scheming for the revolution and drinking beer with punks, Kai likes to spend his time writing and playing music.
